Q. How much does it cost to repair a roof in Delray Beach?
A. Roof repair costs vary based on the roofing material, size of the repair, roof access, and overall condition of the existing roof. Typical pricing per square (100 sq. ft.) ranges from $500 to $550 for shingles, $950 to $1,150 for tile, $1,000 to $1,400 for flat roofs, and $1,100 to $1,500 for metal roofs. A professional inspection with Gulfstream Roofing is the best way to determine exact repair needs and pricing.
Q. How long will my roofing project take?
A. Most roofing projects are completed in stages, with the full timeline depending on roof size, material type, weather, and permit approval. A typical project begins with a proposal in 1 to 3 days, followed by permits which may take 3 to 4 weeks. Once approved, tear-off of the existing roof usually takes 1 to 2 days, and installation of the new roofing system typically takes 1 to 5 days depending on the size and complexity of the project. Gulfstream Roofing handles everything from permits to final inspections to make the process as smooth as possible.
Q. How can a homeowner tell if they need a repair vs. a full replacement?
A. The age of the existing roof is one of the main factors in deciding between a repair and full replacement. Other considerations include the roof’s repair history, overall condition, extent of damage, and the number of active leaks. At Gulfstream Roofing we typically do not recommend repairing roofs that are 20 years old or older, as replacement is often the more reliable long-term solution.
Q. What roofing materials do you offer?
A. We offer a variety of roofing materials, including shingle, tile, flat roofing systems, and metal roofing. Each option varies in cost, lifespan, appearance, and maintenance requirements. Shingles are a popular and budget-friendly choice, tile offers long-lasting durability and curb appeal, flat systems are ideal for commercial and low-slope roofs, and metal provides excellent longevity and weather resistance. The best choice depends on your budget, structure, and aesthetic preference.
Q. What can go wrong if roofing work is done incorrectly?
A. The number one issue that can occur is leaking if roofing work isn’t performed correctly. Other issues include water damage, mold growth, and reduced energy efficiency. That’s why it’s important to choose a company with proper licensing & insurance, local experience, clear detailed proposals, good communication and responsiveness.
